Petroleum bitumen

Petroleum bitumen: An important building material with several applications

Petroleum bitumen is one of the most common and popular building materials in the world. Its unique hydrophobic properties make it an essential part of many construction projects. It is estimated that the world’s natural bitumen reserves today hold about 580 billion tons, and approximately 115 million tons of this valuable resource is extracted each year.
Grade (road):
One of the key uses of bitumen is in the construction of highways. Here, bitumen plays the role of a binding element, bringing together all the components of asphalt concrete. The quality of the bitumen used directly affects the strength and durability of the road surface. Termo-Life offers a wide range of road bitumen, which meet high quality standards and the requirements of the European standard EN 12591:2009.

  • BND: 50/70, 70/100, 100/130, 40/60, 60/90, 90/130, 130/200
  • EN: 12591: 50/70, 70/100, 100/150, 160/200

Grade (roofing):
Roofing bitumen is produced according to GOST 9548-74. Petroleum roofing bitumen is used for the manufacture of roofing and waterproofing materials. Depending on the application of roofing bitumen produce the following grades:

  • BNK 40/180, BNK 45/190, BNK 115/15.

Mark (construction):
Petroleum construction bitumen is produced according to GOST 6617-76 and is characterized by high hydrophobicity. Markings, such as BN 90/10 and 70/30, guarantee reliable protection of various building structures from environmental impact.

  • BN 70/30, BN 90/10, other grades to order
